2017 will go down in history of Latvia, as the year when critical escalated the issue of remuneration of medical staff and their willingness to continue working.
"Now it is clear that the issue of increasing remuneration of health workers is a priority in the planning of the public health budget for next year and long-term human resource planning", — said the Minister.
Chakshu also stressed that the retreat on the issue of raising salaries of medical workers is impossible and it is time to reconsider priorities, giving to the needs of medicine adequate funding.
She also added that the agreement was reached that next year to increase salaries of medical staff will be allocated significant additional funds. "It will no longer increase salaries only in the framework of raising the minimum wage in the country", — assured the Chakshu.
