The newspaper "Kommersant", in turn, found an archive of letters, which tells Foreign Policy, the resource Pastebin. The reporters found that the name of the victim of hackers — Robert Otto. He holds the position of head of unit of the Russian internal policy in the Department for Russia and Eurasia Bureau of intelligence and research of the U.S. Department of state. The network got letters from his personal account on Gmail, most of which is devoted to the work.
According to "Kommersant", a significant portion of the correspondence consists of articles from Russian publications, which Otto shares with his colleagues and friends. Basically we are talking about materials "Novaya Gazeta", "Vedomosti", RBC, "Kommersant" and other media.
Otto is also interested in the fact that well-known political and public figures write in social networks. In his letters, in particular, referred to the former Minister of Finance Alexey Kudrin, the chief editor of "Echo of Moscow" Alexei Venediktov, head of the MIA "Russia today" Margarita Simonyan, the former defense Minister of the breakaway Donetsk national Republic Igor Strelkov-Girkin.
In conversations with colleagues expert on Russia discussed the protests of truckers, the privatization of "Bashneft", the potential of the popular front, as well as personnel changes in various Russian state agencies.
For example, one of the letters was attached a file of seven pages devoted to the head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation Anton Vaino. In other correspondence they say about who attends meetings of the security Council of the Russian Federation and what it might mean. Some letters focused on how to move Vyacheslav Volodin from the presidential administration to the Duma.
