Konrad Bukowiecki recently returned from a three-week training camp in the Republic of South Africa. The shot putter of the AZS UWM Olsztyn club has been dealing with unfortunate events, having suffered from three injuries last season.

Now, he is facing elbow problems, which led him to decide to withdraw from indoor competitions. This decision is aimed at proper preparation for the upcoming European Championships in Rome in June and, most importantly, the Olympic Games in Paris.

Bukowiecki explained, “I have elbow problems. There’s no sense in struggling.

We decided that it’s better to heal and simply prepare well for the summer.” He emphasized that despite not being able to practice shot put, he is working hard to be in top physical condition for the upcoming events.

For Bukowiecki, the priority for 2024 is to prepare for the Olympic Games in Paris. He remains calm about competing in France, with the minimum qualifying distance for shot put being 21.5 meters.

Alternatively, there is a second path through rankings, and Bukowiecki is currently among the top 25 shot put athletes in the world. His participation in the European Championships in Rome in June will also be significant for him.
